What happens if I need to cancel an appointment?
If unable to keep your appointment, please provide our office with 24-hour notification, and please be sure your cancellation is confirmed by office staff or the psychiatric provider's response. The time is specifically set aside for you and we request this cancellation notice so that we may reschedule. Do not assume your visit has been canceled by simply leaving a voice message. We require cancellations to be confirmed. Although we do generally provide a courtesy reminder call 1 to 2 business days prior to your appointment, this is a courtesy only and we urge you not to rely on this contact. It is your responsibility to come to your appointments and, if necessary cancel within the requested time period. We have a 24-hour cancellation policy. For Monday appointments we request a cancellation by Friday. This enables us to notify patients on the waitlist that appointments have become available and to decrease your wait time for appointments. We do not double book and we run on time, please understand our need for 24 hr cancellation policy.

Do you handle insurance billing?
We now accept insurance, like Cigna, Aetna, and United Health. (call the office for an updated list). For insurances we don't accept, we provide services only on a fee-for-service basis and all fees are due before the service is provided. We do, however, provide a receipt of service or superbill which may be submitted to most insurance companies and which many of our patients use to obtain some reimbursement of fees.

What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, checks, and all major credit cards. Psychiatric Family Care patients keep a credit card on file with our office. The credit card information is stored electronically and in a secure encrypted file. Payment is collected at the time of service.

What to expect in the initial evaluation?
our initial appointment will be between 45 - 90 minutes, depending on your needs. The initial evaluation typically consists of time with adults and assessment time with children. During the initial appointment, you will have the opportunity to describe your health concerns and provide any information that you would like to share. The clinician will explore with you your current condition, your medical and mental health history, family history, social history, and other relevant topics.
